I love this book! It brings Harvey, the cutest little harmonica to life with so much fun. Adventures abound with Harvey, the boy Walter, and Buddy, the howling, bone-loving dog. My grand-children will love it, too, I’m sure.

Becky Van Vleet has created a wonderous story about, of all things, a harmonica. The grandpa, dad and son in the book become real people to the reader. Best of all, the harmonica edges it's way into the heart of the child who is reading this book, or enjoying it as a bedtime story at grandma's house. The charm of the book is the slow pace and predictability of cause and effect. Courtney Smith brings the story alive with clear and cleverly drawn illustrations. The questions at the end of the story and the bonus song only add to the pleasure of this book. Preschoolers and primary age students will enjoy this book. Especially if a harmonica is close at hand. Great gift idea.
